Holiday update

Temari, desert, class
This year's holidays weren't too bad. Christmas was a hit, especially after R's present came for him a couple of days ago. It was a game he'd been wanting to replace, and it also had a couple of expansions.  The reason we couldn't find it at Walmart or whatever was because they don't carry it in the US. You have to go to the EU or elsewhere. So, a lot of places had sold out of it online.  But it got here. The kids loved all their presents. Mostly the train table and the books.  I got Kingdom Hearts 2, sans book, which was a good thing, because I've already finished it. Probably means I could finish the other four or so games I've got running that I can't seem to get the "ultimate weapons" or fights or whatever.  Those goofy side-quests that don't change the storyline. Anyway, I might do that.
I also got a back massage on Christmas eve, which was really nice.

New Years was another matter entirely. I was sick all day yesterday. We decided not to go anywhere Mon night, which was a good thing, but it made me frustrated. Very frustrated. I wanted to do something for New Years Eve. It sucks that the only thing there is to do in this town is go to the local bar.  Maybe some small churches or whatnot have "Watchnight" Services, but I hadn't heard of any, and neither had R. Which is weird.
Anyway, I spent most of yesterday in bed, and then lost my voice.   Today, I still don't have it back.   Which makes it hard to talk to the kids.  When I do, Anna still whispers back to me, which is cute.  I'm going to have to rely on them to tell each other I want to see them, and stuff like that. Also, obviously not going to choir practice tonight.  Heh.

I hope I feel better soon.
On the plus side of things, though, my little sister had her baby.  Joshua Samuel was born on the 29th, which happens to be my late grandmother's birthday. What a blessing.
