Thoughts on the '08 Olympic Outreach

Temari, desert, class
Last night, while we were up because my face was throbbing, R was telling me some of his worries for the upcoming China Outreach (Olympics). It wasn't definite, but it had some historical background to it.
We've been talking for days about the Chinese army with their "Weather equipment". Then, he tells me last night that he's worried, because there have been anti-western riots all over. So, he's worried about the YWAMers, because it felt similar to the stuff Mao did before he started removing Westerners from China. I know I have some Chinese friends who read this, and I'm not intending to say anything more than we're worried about our western friends in a climate like that. Especially if they go into the situation unaware. We wanted to go on this trip. We wanted to be a part of the huge amount of people going to help. However, the doors closed, and I think I can see why. Similar to the Coast Guard's "We have to go out, but we don't have to come back," sometimes missionaries have to have Brother Andrew's mindset. "There are no closed countries. You can always get in; you may not always be able to go home." Paraphrased in both cases. I just want those on my list who read to be aware that if you're going to go on the outreach, it might be that kind of outreach. If you're still getting tugged that way, then, great. Go with my prayers and blessings. But as the time draws near, and things get more interesting all over, it'd be nice to at least have some sort of warning to keep the level of "walking circumspectly" a little higher. That is all. (For now anyway.)
